Binnen de wereld van schitterende klassieke voertuigen is de Austin Healey 3000 een zeer bekend model. Deze Britse open sportwagen werd geproduceerd van 1959 tot 1967 door de British Motor Corporation. Oorspronkelijk werd deze Austin Healey 3000 in 1961 en geleverd in de Verenigde Staten. Het is een zogenoemde BT7 uitvoering, dus een 2 + 2 zits uitvoering. Begin jaren 90 is de auto volledig gerestaureerd, waarbij de auto volledig is overgespoten en ook het interieur is volledig vernieuwd. In 1995 is deze prachtige roadster in Nederland gekomen en sindsdien in bezit geweest van één eigenaar, die de auto al die jaren met zeer veel zorg en liefde heeft onderhouden.

Deze stijlvolle Austin Healey is voorzien van een prachtige en perfecte kleurencombinatie Old English White met rood lederen interieur. De restauratie is al wat langer geleden, maar de auto is nog steeds in zeer mooie en goede conditie. Er zijn wat lichte verkleuringen te zien aan de onderzijde van de carrosseriedelen, maar de lak heeft grotendeels nog steeds een bijzonder mooie glans. Ook de diverse chroom- en sierdelen zijn nog in goede conditie. Dat geldt ook voor de diverse rubberdelen en afdichtingen, die zijn ook nog in zeer goede staat. De cabrioletkap is in al die jaren weinig gebruikt en nog in redelijk goede staat. De zijramen zijn ook aanwezig bij de auto. De stijlvolle spaakvelgen geven de auto extra allure.

Het interieur is nog in uitzonderlijk goede conditie. De rood lederen stoelen met stijlvolle witte bies zijn nog in bijna nieuwstaat. Het is werkelijk bijzonder dat het interieur na al die jaren in zo’n goede conditie is. Het geeft duidelijk weer met hoeveel zorg en liefde de auto is onderhouden. Het stijlvolle rode interieur vormt een perfecte match met de Old English White carrosseriekleur. De rode vloerbedekking is nog in zeer goede conditie en het prachtige rode dashboard met schitterende Smiths tellers is prachtig om te zien. Uiteraard werken alle instrumenten werken naar behoren. Het houten stuurwiel is prachtig om te zien en vormt ook een perfecte match bij deze auto.

Als we de motorkap open doen, zien we een prachtig motorblok. De 2912 cc liter zescilinder is niet alleen schitterend om te zien, maar nog veel mooier om naar te luisteren. Deze prachtige motor met de drie bekende SU carburateurs loopt bijzonder mooi en rustig. De versnellingsbak is voorzien van een overdrive, wat zorgt voor extra comfort. Deze prachtige Austin Healey is niet alleen schitterend om te zien maar nog veel heerlijker om mee te rijden. De remmen werken stevig en solide en de auto schakelt bijzonder soepel en goed. Deze iconische klassieke roadster (in perfecte kleurencombinatie) is zonder twijfel een zeer aantrekkelijke auto, wachtend op de volgende liefhebber.
