Angelelli Automobili – D2 Granturismo is a high-performance vehicle that was born in 2022 from the collaboration of five Italian engineers and a startup, Angelelli Automobili, based in Rome. Created by combining the company’s various patents into a single product, this was achieved through the use of proprietary algorithms for design.
The grandiose name “D2 Granturismo Superperformante” aims to be the ultimate interpretation of the company’s patents, offering the driver the pinnacle of performance and elegance on both the road and the track.
This futuristic iconic vehicle is the result of years of study and numerous patents, ranging from aerodynamic design to the use of new technologies, such as an innovative chassis with the application of Generative Design and topological optimization of structures, followed by 3D printing in a titanium-aluminum alloy with a lattice effect inside. This gives greater rigidity at stress points of the chassis and lightness where stress is lower, mimicking the bone structure of birds.
The design and engineering of the vehicle have led to the development of a revolutionary software for the automotive market called “Smart Design,” which aims to revolutionize automotive design by saving designers and engineers thousands of hours of work thanks to its complex algorithm.
Other innovative elements characterizing the D2 include: multiple movable surfaces for active aerodynamics, sintered metal material printing via purpose-built robots, the absence of welding and adhesives in the chassis, the implementation of 360° vision technology, an HUD (heads-up display) for the pilot’s instrumentation, a triple camera system for mirrorless rearview mirrors, and finally, Predictive technology. These features make this project the first in the world in the Automotive-Motorsport sector to implement such a multitude of futuristic technologies.
The D2 Granturismo Sport version will be the new Italian sports gran turismo, an extreme version of the aerodynamic concepts already installed on the road version of the D1. With a hybrid power unit, it will concentrate technologies to optimize performance and handling both on the track and on the road.
In the Superperformante D2 project, the concept of Italian styling from the first Supercars is reimagined in a modern way. The vehicle, for now, will be homologated only for track use and made to the specific requests of the customer. This confirms how this emerging manufacturer, with ambitions to become an international brand, keeps alive the Italian design and craftsmanship spirit (Made in Italy), producing high-performance, one-off vehicles, hand-built piece by piece.

Angelelli Automobili – D2 Granturismo è una vettura ad alte prestazioni che nasce nel 2022 da 5 ingegneri Italiani ed una Startup, Angelelli Automobili, con base a Roma.
Creata dall’aggregazione dei vari brevetti della società in un unico prodotto grazie anche all’utilizzo di algoritmi proprietari per la progettazione.
Il nome altisonante “D2 Granturismo Superperfomante” vuole essere per la casa automobilistica ed i suoi clienti la massima interpretazione dei vari brevetti della società per regalare al pilota il top delle Perfomance e dell’eleganza, su strada ed in pista.
Questa avveniristica iconica vettura è frutto di anni di studio e numerosi brevetti che spaziano dal design aerodinamico all’utilizzo di nuove tecnologie, quali un telaio innovativo con l’applicazione tecnica del Generative Design ed ottimizzazione topologica delle strutture e successiva stampa 3D in lega titanio-alluminio, con effetto lattice all’interno. Quest’ultimo conferisce maggiore rigidità nei punti di stress del telaio e leggerezza dove invece le sollecitazioni sono inferiori, richiamando la natura ossea dei volatili.
Il design e l’ingegnerizzazione della vettura ha portato alla luce lo sviluppo di un software rivoluzionario per il mercato automobilistico denominato “Smart Design” che punta a rivoluzionare il mercato della progettazione automobilistica grazie al suo complesso algoritmo è in grado di far risparmiare al designer ed al progettista migliaia di ore di lavoro.
Altri elementi innovativi cha caratterizzano la D-2 sono: molteplici superfici mobili per l’aerodinamica attiva, la stampa sinterizzata di materiali metallici tramite Robot creati ad hoc, assenza di saldature e incollaggi nel telaio, l’implementazione della Tecnologia di visione a 360°, l’HUD per la strumentazione del pilota e una tripla telecamera per i retrovisori (mirror less) ed infine la Predictive technology che rendono questo progetto il primo esempio al mondo nel settore Automotive-Motorsport dell’implementazione di molteplici tecnologie avveniristiche.
La versione della Granturismo D-2 Sport , sarà la nuova Granturismo Sportiva Italiana, estremizzazione di numerosi concetti aerodinamici già installati sulla Versione Stradale D-1; una Power unit ibrida, sarà un concentrato di tecnologie implementate sulla vettura per ottimizzare prestazioni ed Handling sia in pista che su strada.Nel progetto Superperformante D-2, viene rielaborato il concetto di stile italiano delle prime Supercar in chiave moderna..
La vettura, per adesso sarà omologata solo per la pista, realizzata su richieste specifiche del cliente, a conferma di come questa emergente casa costruttrice, con la presunzione di diventare un brand internazionale, mantenga vivo il Design e lo spirito manifatturiero italiano (Made in Italy) di costruttore di auto che realizza, pezzo per pezzo a mano, vetture ad altissime prestazioni e ONE-OFF.
